Adam started working in film and television as an art department assistant on CHAPLIN and then THE SECRET GARDEN both designed by production designer Stuart Craig.
After rising through the ranks in the art department Adam worked as an art director on a range of films including: GLADIATOR, TROY, X-MEN 1st CLASS and PROMETHEUS, and as supervising art director on film and television productions: BILLY ELLIOT, THE BORGIAS, FORTITUDE, Oliver Stone’s SNOWDEN and PENNY DREADFUL, as well as early concepts and drawings for ALIEN COVENANT.
Recent projects include NIGHTFLYERS as senior art director and PENNYWORTH as supervising art director.
He has received ADG nominations for art direction for five productions, receiving an ADG award for GLADIATOR as assistant art director, an EMMY nomination as supervising art director for THE BORGIAS, and a BFDG nomination for SNOWDEN. PENNY DREADFUL won a BAFTA craft award for production design.
He has also worked as a theatre designer, and as a design consultant for high end interior and furniture design companies.
